Getting started with Awsm Collections
Awsm Collections turns the tedious parts of merchandising into something that runs itself. You build collections from rules ("anything that's a Dress, under $50, and in stock"), and the app keeps them up to date as your catalog and sales change. On top of that sits a layer of AI tools — an autonomous merchandiser, semantic search, demand detection and more — that suggest, build and re-rank collections for you. This guide is a quick tour of the dashboard so you know where everything lives.
1 The dashboard at a glance
When you open the app you land on the dashboard. The top of the page is your AI toolkit — the AI Merchandiser, AI Insights, Semantic search, Suggested collections, Merchandising gaps and Demand radar — and below that is the table of your managed collections with their state, product count and last-updated time.
2 Your managed collections
Each row is a collection the app manages for you. The State shows where it is in its sync cycle, Products count is how many products currently match, and the Actions column lets you Edit the rules, Update now, or view it on Shopify. New here? Use Create with AI or Add manually to make your first one.
3 The AI tools
The cards up top each do one job: the AI Merchandiser audits and improves every collection on a schedule; Suggested collections proposes brand-new collections worth creating; Semantic search finds products by meaning; Merchandising gaps spots groups of products you don't have a collection for; and Demand radar surfaces products that are taking off. Each is one click.
4 Plans
The app has three plans — Starter ($299), Pro ($499) and Enterprise ($699). Rule-based collections are on every plan; the AI toolkit unlocks on Pro and above.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to set anything up before building a collection?
No. Install, open the dashboard, and either build a collection from rules or let the AI suggest one. Your products and sales sync automatically in the background.
What's the difference between a "managed" collection and a normal Shopify collection?
A managed collection is defined by rules the app evaluates continuously and syncs to a real Shopify collection — so it stays correct as products come, go, sell out, or change.
Which features need a paid plan?
The AI toolkit (AI Merchandiser, suggestions, semantic search, gaps, demand radar, facets) is on the Pro and Enterprise plans. Rule-based collections work on every plan.
Will this change my existing Shopify collections?
The app only manages the collections it creates or that you hand it. Your other collections are untouched.
